Here's a photo of Deedee making her portrait canvas of her youngest son Noah.  Isn't it great?  She's making portraits of her other sons Jacob and Anthony too.  I'm sure she'll post photos of them when they're done, so you can see the final product!!!   Stay tuned...

Welcome to my house...

Deedee stopped by this morning after dropping her boys off at school.  When she saw the canvas portraits I made of my girls hanging in my dining room, she asked me to photograph it and post it on our blog.  :-)  Welcome to my house... it smells like Americanos... mmmmm.

Flower Emma...

Resources:  12x12 inch canvas with gallery edges, acrylic paints and mediums, pages from vintage magazine, personal drawings, packing material,  Cottagearts photo filters, Tim Holtz flower die cut, K&Company Studio K Round Word Brads
What a wonderful rainy day... the perfect day to scrappage.  On my first visit to the scrapbook store here in Ankeny, I picked up a book on photo transfers.  It shows all kinds of ways to tranfer your photos on other materials.  Here is my first attempt at combining, photography, painting, and scrapbook on canvas.  It's so much fun.

This portrait canvas has gallery edges, so it's ready to hand on the wall.  My big plan is to put together some canvas transfer kits with all the supplies with a how-to (I want to make a video how-to tutorial too!), so I can do workshops and people can make their own canvas photo portraits.  Let me know if you'd be interested in a workshop.  I'm also making Custom Portrait Canvases available at my gallery.  (click here to visit my goodnewsart gallery)

My favorite kind of gifts...

Isn't this tag awesome? I love it so much. Not to brag or anything, but Deedee brought me this and an Americano when she came to craft with me. She does amazing things with alcohol inks don't you think? I'm going to have to use this tag on a page... and when I do, I'll make sure and post a picture of it. Handmade gifts are my very favorite kind.  With the weather changing, I'm all excited about fall colors, making things cozy, and making handmade gifts.  What have you been making lately, do share!!!

New scrapbook pages - Journey

I made up some new product packages called, "God so loved the world" that I will post soon to my etsy shop. There are fun magnified words from my mom's bible, and a church, and other fun embellishments that have handwriting on them. Angela came over, and we played with the product to make two scrapbook pages with photos of my dad and my grandfather. We used scrapbook paper by Heidi Swapp with punch out letters - journey. We also used some die cuts by Tim Holtz, which were so much fun with the nostalgic pictures and theme.
If you click on the photos - you can see them up close.

Visiting Judy's Scrappin', Stampin' & Gifts in Maine

On my trip to Maine, I found an awesome scrapbook store called Judy's Scrappin', Stampin" & Gifts. Judy's great! Her store is full of all kinds of great scrapbook treasures. She told me that she is one of the few scrapbook stores in the area, and she not only carries scrapbook supplies, but also all kinds of gifts and crafts. I also met Judy's husband at the store. It's kind of cool, he's the channel three weather man and pastors the Methodist church down the road. It was so much fun to meet Judy. She really inspired me.
If you're in Maine - check out her store: 19 Mill Street, Orono, Me 04473
She's also on facebook.
